It’s not just about buildings—it’s about the *stories, people, and memories that make Karachi special.
On *5th February 2025, we had the incredible opportunity to embark on a *Heritage Walk organized by *Pakistan Chowk Community Centre (PCCC). Led by the amazing *Shaheen Nauman, we explored Karachi’s rich history, stunning architecture, and the forgotten stories behind its iconic landmarks.
From the intricate stonework of Kanji Building to the timeless *Clock Tower, every site had a story to tell. We walked through the **Adamjee Building, a symbol of Karachi’s business legacy, admired the charming balconies of **Sadiq Manzil, and stood in awe of the colonial-era elegance of *Anjarwala Building. It was fascinating to learn how these structures were built with natural ventilation and open courtyards, fostering a sense of community.
Beyond the architecture, this walk revealed *hidden history—stories of resilience, contributions of unsung heroes, and the cultural richness of old Karachi. We also reflected on how preserving these sites is crucial, as they are not just buildings but *pieces of our heritage.
These walks are a *wake-up call for the youth—a chance to appreciate, protect, and celebrate our artistic and prestigious history before it fades away. Huge thanks to *PCCC for their dedication and hard work in keeping our heritage alive. This experience was truly enlightening, and I’m grateful to have been part of it!
